Taken over by Boxes!

I have fallen in love with the art of Cartonnage! I started making journals and it just progressed from there. The papers I use are Lokta from Nepal and Chiyogami from Japan. I use sturdy bookboard to make the box case and then cover it with the papers. I hand paint the little gold feet and the fancy wood turning on the top! Did you know there are 11 pieces of board and 16 pieces of paper involved in the process? it takes hours to make one of these 3.5” square boxes but I so enjoy the process.
